The establishment of an LLL coordination system is a response to the need for strategic planning in the area of lifelong learning, including vocational education, higher education, and adult learning, which is an important element of economic and social development management due to the need to prepare the workforce and society for constant changes in all areas of life. This forces us to constantly improve our level of education and expand our competences in order to adapt to the changing reality. The concept of lifelong learning (LLL) refers to human activity aimed at broadening knowledge and developing skills from a personal or social perspective, while focusing on the needs of the labor market. The project implements the main areas of action included in the Integrated Skills Strategy 2030, which include, among others, the development and use of skills, cooperation between employers and education, career counseling, lifelong learning, and skills validation.
Project goal:
improving the education system and lifelong learning mechanisms to better align them with the needs of the modern economy, increase innovation, enhance the transfer of new technologies, and promote green transformation;
implementing innovative and sustainable cooperation mechanisms in vocational education, higher education, and lifelong learning that promote resilience and excellence as well as digital and green transformation.
As part of the Project, the Łódź Province will implement a series of measures between 2023 and 2026 to support the region’s education policy in the areas of career counseling, promotion of vocational education, and dissemination of the idea of lifelong learning. In addition to conferences, seminars, and competitions, there are plans to create a Provincial Career Counseling System and a Vocational Education Strategy for the Łódź Province.
A Provincial Coordination Team (WZK) was established for the purposes of the project, which is an advisory and opinion-giving body in the field of supporting the educational policy of the Łódź Province. The Team’s tasks include coordinating career counseling activities for pupils, students, and adults, as well as promoting vocational education and the idea of lifelong learning. In 2023, the WZK developed an Operationalized Program for the Implementation of the Integrated Skills Strategy 2030, which will be updated on an ongoing basis during the project’s implementation and throughout its lifetime.
